Get Effective Ongoing Training and Technical Assistance

 
 

In our most recent discussions with Head Start professionals, they have taken what they have learned from Strong Fathers-Strong Families, LLC back to their organizations but it has been difficult to get the ball rolling with all of the other duties that they have.

Strong Fathers-Strong Families has done staff trainings, pre-service training workshops, and even intermittent coaching. When programs use our materials and training IT WORKS! We are very confident of our programs and products but we are looking at new and better ways to help Head Start and Early Head Start professionals actually plan and provide ongoing father engagement efforts throughout the year. A large staff training can help but we want to make sure all of our Family Engagement professionals are getting the support that they need. Starting July 1 we will be offering three levels of annual training and technical assistance plans.

STARTER LEVEL

You may be new to Family Engagement and PFCE requirements and need information to help you start learning about effective father and family engagement. You may be VERY interested in building in more father engagement but your work load keeps you from being able to commit to a higher level of learning and implementation. We want to make sure you are still getting the help and the resources you need, even with your busy schedule.

Here is what you can expect at this level of membership:

  • Monthly Father Activity Handouts in English and Spanish-Provide them in print or online

  • Weekly training video-15 to 30 minutes of tips and tricks for working effectively with dads

  • Facebook Group-We will share daily and weekly insights, resources, and videos

    We will use this forum to collect burning questions and give you answers (that are fire!)

  • Monthly training-1 Hour scheduled online training for interactive learning (with replays)

    Certificates will be available for each video you complete

  • Quarterly one on one coaching calls-Your own 30 minute session to let me help you plan your father engagement efforts

 

Professional Level

You have been working with families, you have attended trainings and workshops, and you are ready to move the needle! You may even be tasked with making father engagement happen in your organization but feel like you are the only one pulling on the rope! This is for folks who are serious about making things happen and who are tired of not getting results for a work that they know is important for families.

We want to make sure we provide serious technical assistance to people who know what they are doing but may not have the experience they need to be more effective with fathers. We want to provide a double measure of experience and wisdom to your own to help you be successful and to be able to lead others in your organization.

Here is what you can expect at this level of membership:

  • ALL OF THE RESOURCES IN THE STARTER LEVEL

    PLUS

  • Monthly Deep Dives- 2 hour trainings with J. Michael Hall, M.Ed. where we can share best practices and moderate group discussions with other like minded, driven professionals.

  • Field Reports-One on One interviews with successful family engagement professionals, authors, policy makers, and national leaders. Available as videos or podcasts for convenience.

  • Quarterly 1 hour personal coaching-Answer any questions and help overcome barriers.

  • First shot at pre-conference trainings and meet ups, in person trainings, and other conference discounts. (Join Strong Fathers at state, regional, and national conferences.)

 

TEAM LEVEL

You have a team of dedicated family engagement professionals who are ready to make a difference at the classroom, center, and organizational level. Each team will have access to all of the training and resources and it would not be on the shoulders of any one person to make all of these great things happen. Each team would be it’s own professional learning community with OTHER communities to learn together and learn from each other. We might even do some team competition! (Yes, it would involve t-shirts and medals or trophies-and coffee prizes)

Here is what you can expect at this level of membership:

  • ALL OF THE RESOURCES IN THE STARTER and PRO LEVELS

    PLUS

  • TEAM GOAL SETTING SESSION-develop a plan for programs and professional learning

  • Monthly Team Trainings-You can get all of the resources from the other levels but this would be a meeting of your team dealing with the opportunities and barriers that are present in YOUR ORGANIZATION and COMMUNITY. There are so many things that work in all organizations or communities but we want to be even more effective where you are now.

  • ONLINE VIRTUAL DAD AND KID EVENTS- Strong Fathers will provide virtual Dad and Kid Reading Nights, Dad and Kid Math Nights, and Dad and Kid Science Nights. You can use these programs to allow us to work with your dads and kids in English and Spanish from a ZOOM meeting that you can attend at each of your centers with ZOOM capabilities.

    (Supplies are additional but all promotional materials, checklists, and forms will be provided. If more dates are needed then more will be provided based on the number of teams at this level. Dates to be determined. Program may be live or replayed.)
